Spring Break Earth Day Camp
Rancho El Chorro Outdoor School presents Spring Break Earth Day Camp for children in grades 1-8. The camp will run from Monday, April 25th to Friday, April 29th from 7:30 am till 5:30 pm.
Rancho El Chorro Outdoor School provides a beautiful outdoor setting for children to learn about nature. Children will participate in daily activities that are fun and engaging such as:
- Study organic gardening and composting
- Learn about local birds, native plants, and marine life
- Hike along the creek, forest, or to the pond
- Build solar ovens and learn about alternative sources of energy
- Learn about Native Americans
- Games, arts and crafts
- And more!!!
Registration and Payment
- Please completely fill out the Earth Day Camp Registration Form. Click here for the form.
- Mail registration and payment to Rancho El Chorro Outdoor School (address on form).
- Credit card payments will be accepted in person at the SLOCOE Main Office during normal business hours.
- Registrations are now being accepted, space is limited. Deadline to register is Friday, Monday 18, 2011.
Rancho El Chorro Outdoor School Staff
The Day Camp staff is comprised of experienced Naturalists and Outdoor Education Interns. They possess college degrees and are certified in First Aid and CPR.
Parent Tips
- Children must bring a lunch and water bottle. Morning and afternoon snacks will be provided.
- Children must wear closed-toed shoes.
- It is suggested that children dress in layers (be prepared for cool or warm weather). Hats/caps and sunscreen are suggested.
- Children may be dropped off beginning at 7:30 am. Structured activities begin at 9:00 am.
- Structured activities conclude at 4:00 pm. Children may be picked up beginning at 4:00 pm but no later than 5:30 pm.
